Art Teaching Retrospect - Project #1 T-shirt Catwalk Show
The designing of T-shirts was an art class project that evolved into an annual T-shirt fashion show and design competition. The event started in 2004 and continued until now. In 2010, an inter-class music contest competition was added to make it into a variety show. Every year, I decided on a theme about six months prior and planned for the event details. We ordered the white T-shirts according to students’ sizes at the beginning of the school term. About two to three months before the event, all students in the school designed their own T-shirts according to the theme in art class that year. On the day of the show, all students wore their own T-shirt and gathered in the school hall. Each class selected three representatives to model their T-shirt design on the temporary catwalk, which was constructed by putting together six large tables connected by zip ties. The catwalk was complemented by music and disco lights. Designer and model winners in three divisions were awarded prizes and certificates. It was an event that all students looked forward to each year. The following is a clip of the show from 2011.

源於任教小學視藝課堂，紙上談兵式的畫於畫紙上的T恤設計，由 2004 年至 2014 年，演變成每年一度用真正 T 恤繪畫設計、表演的比賽。其後，隨著班際音樂比賽加入，發展成綜藝表演。每年，我會在 6 個月前，決定該年度有關學生和勵志的主題。學期學始，為學生訂適合尺寸的白 T恤。學生會在表演前的兩、三個月，在視藝課堂上，設計他們的 T恤。比賽表演當天，學生穿上自己設計的T恤，齊集於學校禮堂。由每班選派 3 位代表模特兒，在強勁節拍的音樂和彩色的士高燈光下，在以視藝室運來的大桌子以尼龍索帶加固的天橋上表演。分成初、中、高 3 個組別的最佳設計師及模特兒，均會獲得獎狀和獎品，以資鼓勵。這是每年學生期待和盡情享受的節目。

Art Teaching Retrospect - Project #2 Giant Milk Carton Painting
The giant milk carton painting project took place in 2012. It required painting continuous images on six sides of a carton. Only five students were invited to participate as I wanted the painting style on all sides to be consistent. The finished carton was displayed at an athletic meet. Art Teaching Retrospect - Project #3 Let's Color Our Campus
In 2014, I enrolled the school in the “Let’s Color Our Campus” Program sponsored by Dulux.
We turned a deserted storage shedhut near the school’s main entrance into a colorful “brick house” by using the free paint provided by Dulux. Around fifteen students participated in the painting process, and the finished building was repurposed to by the school. During the process, we had to stop painting due to the unusual low temperature in Hong Kong. Thanks to the unanimous support and encouragement from the school, teachers, staffs, students, and parents, we managed to complete the project in time. Photos of the process are attached below.

我報名參加和帶領了由多樂士油漆公司舉辦之「Let's Colour Our Campus」校園添色彩計劃，由該公司提供全部免費油漆。於 2014 年初，指導十多位學生，將位於學校正門附近荒廢了的更亭，變身成為彩色小磚屋。我們同時清理了裡面的雜物，讓學校可以重新安排該小建築物的用途。活動期間，曾經因為香港氣溫低於攝氏 10 度而停工，但整個計劃能依時完成，實有賴學校、老師、員工、家長和學生的全力支持和鼓勵。以下是變身過程的 15 張照片。
Art Teaching Retrospect - Project #4 Art Gallery & Studio
Another one of my projects involved transforming a small and narrow classroom into an art studio and gallery. Thanks to the principal’s total trust and support, I was able to curate the project freely and enjoy the process in doing so. It was a pleasure to coordinate everything, from furnishing the space to putting up displays to designing the promotional materials. Outside the room, I installed three large blackboards and put twelve easels and some tables there for art activities. I used the school initials to name the place as “Brilliant and Creative Kids Proficient Studio”. The studio showcased the beautiful pieces of art, design and crafts created by my students. One of the walls displayed prizes and award certificates won by students in various art and design competitions in recent years. Total expenses for this project came to approximately $1,300 in Canadian dollars. The studio not only works as a studio for students’ creative activities, but also as a valuable venue that showcases artwork and stimulates the imagination of students for art and design. 視藝教學活動回顧之 #4 成立卓藝坊
作為這個項目的設計師和策展人，我將校舍一間窄長的小組輔導教室，變身成為視藝展覽和創作活動場地。感謝校長的絕對信任與支持，我享受由選購角几、畫架，懸掛學生繪畫的小蝴蝶至特定高度，以至親自設計橫額、作品標籤以至開幕海報和邀請咭的整個過程。利用室外區域放置 12 個座地畫架及工友協助在牆上裝上 3塊巨型黑板，滿足學生畫黑板和塗鴉的慾望。該區域以學校英文縮寫首字命名，中文則取其意，命名為「卓藝坊」。主要展出學生視覺藝術、設計和手工的優秀作品。室內牆上貼有近年學生在各項視覺藝術與設計比賽的部份獎狀和得獎証書。整個計劃秏資七千餘港元，約一千三百加元。卓藝坊除了為學生提供一個創作園地外，亦為視藝與設計教學，提供了展示示範作品和刺激學生靈感與想像力的設施。以下是有關卓藝坊的短片。

Art Teaching Retrospect - Project #5 Visual Arts News Publishing
CK Visual Art News aka VAN was created and acted as a yearly review and report of visual arts activities and news in the school. One thousand color offset copies were printed in 2013 and two thousand color offset copies were printed in 2014 and distributed to students, parents, other schools, guests and visitors of the school. The cover page listed the visual arts activities and the back cover was reserved for the award and prize winners, students who won prizes in external art or design competitions in that school year. Year 2013 and & 2014 VAN are attached below for your reference. Art Teaching Retrospect - Project #6 Mosaic Plaque Gift to School
The graduating class of 2012 wanted to create a mosaic plaque as a gift to the school. It was the first time we tried to create a mosaic at such a large size. Using whatever color of tiles that were provided by the art and craft material supplier, we managed to complete the gift mosaic within 3 days, using a few hours after school each day. Sixteen photos of the process are attached below.

2012 年畢業的同學想送一塊自行製作的馬賽克牌匾，給母校作畢業禮物。從未試過做那麼大的馬賽克，而且視藝材料供應商的小包裝馬賽克，不能指定有甚麼顏色和每種色的數量，但學生仍能在課後時間，三天之內，用了幾小時，就完成這件饒有意義的禮物。以下是製作過程的 16 張照片。
Art Teaching Retrospect - Project #7 《Show Off Our Talent 》Outdoor Art Exhibition
About thirty students’ paintings and drawings were selected and enlarged to large weather resistant banners and displayed on the exterior walls, facing the adjacent streets. The two city block long exhibition was enjoyed by all passersby. The project gave the students a sense of achievement and and helped them increase their self-confidence. Thanks to the school for funding this ambitious project. It was probably the biggest elementary school art exhibition in the history of Hong Kong.

欣逢學校四十週年校慶，得辦學團體和學校資助，舉辦這個可能是香港有史以來最大規模的小學戶外視藝展覽，名為《童心創藝展才華》。將約 30 餘張的學生視藝作品，放大成超過黑板大小的大型畫作，於九龍灣啟禮道 12 號校舍面向兩個街段的外牆展示，讓經過校舍外的公眾人仕參觀欣賞，同時提升了畫作被選中的同學的成功感與自信心。
Art Teaching Retrospect - Project #8 ‘Lucky Dragon Project'
What would you do with hundreds of useless compact discs that came with supplementary exercise books and text books at a school? In 2003, I received hundreds of such discs from fellow colleagues at my school. I gathered a group of students to work on the ‘Lucky Dragon Project’. I taught them how to connect the compact discs together with fishing lines and we formed a fifty foot long Lucky Dragon using those discs. After completion of the project, it took us two half days to hang it in the main lobby of school. The project was completed to celebrate the grand opening of our new campus and helped welcome our students and guests.

怎樣利用數以百計隨補充練習及課本附送重複的無用光碟？2003 年，校內其他老師送給我一批那樣的光碟。我召集了一群學生進行這個「環保祥龍計劃」，教導他們以魚絲連結起數百隻光碟，組成一條長約 50 呎的環保祥龍。隨後，我們用了兩節半日時間將之懸掛在學校正門大堂上方，以慶祝新校舍開幕和學校開放日，歡迎學生、家長和嘉賓。
